Description
The encampment at the underpass of 42nd and MLK has reached a critical point, with safety concerns escalating over the past four months. Rampant drug use, frequent fires, and hazardous conditions are endangering both pedestrians and drivers.
The encampment's growth has obstructed pedestrian pathways, rendering the area inaccessible for foot traffic. Additionally, vehicles navigating through the site encounter major issues due to trash blocking pathways and potholes, posing significant safety hazards. Moreover, the presence of open fires, drug use, and individuals openly injecting heroin exacerbates the dangers associated with the area.
It's imperative that immediate action is taken to address these safety hazards. As this matter requires prompt attention and resolution, we urge management to prioritize the implementation of effective measures to mitigate the risks posed by the encampment.
